Trials

Pilot Testing for Smarter Investments

Run trials on new setups, coatings, and configurations in a controlled environment. Our pilot dryers let you validate results before full-scale investment.

Complete trials in real conditions confirms output before implementation.

We offer trial setups across industrial segments – whether in our workshops, at your production site, or in collaboration with pilot facilities. Trials let you validate drying performance, test different emitter types and power levels, and identify the best configuration for your product and process. It’s a way to de-risk decisions, speed up development, and move forward with confidence.

In-House Testing

At our sites in Sweden and France, we carry out in-house trials to evaluate how various drying technologies interact with your specific materials and coatings. By adjusting parameters such as power input, heating time, varying IR lamps, gas emitters, and air nozzles, we can simulate real process conditions and analyze how each setup behaves. These controlled tests provide valuable insights into energy transfer, surface response, and overall process stability – helping you determine the most effective configuration for your application.

On-Site Testing

For on-site validation at your location, we provide more than 40 different gas and electric infrared trial hoods, adapted to a wide range of industrial needs. These units can be temporarily installed directly on your production lines, including paper or coating machines, to verify moisture removal, evaluate process parameters, and test specific configurations in real conditions.

Pilot Coating

Pilot coating is the step between lab testing and full production –used to trial coatings, substrates, and drying setups under realistic conditions. These tests help fine-tune process parameters and evaluate dryer performance before scaling up.

Styron Pilot Coater, Switzerland

This high-speed pilot coater is equipped with eight Ircon-Solaronics electric IR dryers – both Infradry and Itronic – installed at key positions to support various coating types. With a top speed of 3000 m/min and individually adjustable power settings, it enables precise testing under near-industrial conditions.

UMV Coating Systems Pilot Coater

The UMV Coating Systems pilot coater operates at speeds up to 2200 m/min and is equipped with 15 of our electric infrared frames across two locations. Used for UMV customer trials, it provides a high-speed platform to test IR setups under production-like conditions with precision.

Testing at RISE

In collaboration with RISE, we support food industry clients in testing new heating and drying methods. At their Gothenburg site, flexible infrared and microwave pilot ovens are available for a wide range of trials – from baking to drying. Many units are mobile, allowing tests to be run either on-site or at your own facility, giving you clear, practical results tailored to your product.

Testing at Micvac

In collaboration with Micvac, we support testing of microwave-based heating for ready-to-eat meals. At their Gothenburg facility, trials are conducted to evaluate heating consistency, packaging performance, and process efficiency – helping you refine your solution before scaling up.
